Jasmyn announces Ashley L. Coleman new CEO

JASMYN, an organization serving Jacksonville’s LGBTQIA+ community, announced Wednesday that Ashley L. Coleman will take over as the organization’s new CEO.

The leadership transition comes after founding CEO Cindy Watson announced plans to retire at the end of 2025.

Coleman previously served as Executive Director of Galaei, a Pennsylvania-based organization serving Queer, Trans, Indigenous and People of Color communities, before later becoming Executive Director of Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center in Philadelphia.

In an announcement on its Facebook page, Jasmyn stated, “She has directed large-scale community events, national conferences, and youth-focused initiatives, consistently working to create safe, affirming spaces for LGBTQ+ youth. In the coming weeks, Ashley will meet with youth, staff, partners, and supporters as she transitions into her new role.”

Founded in 1994, JASMYN has long served as a resource and safe space for LGBTQIA+ youth in Northeast Florida, offering youth programs, health services, and community support. Coleman’s appointment comes as the organization prepares for a new chapter in leadership following founding CEO Cindy Watson’s planned retirement and a brief leadership period under Francisco Castro.
