Alex Hazen Signs Pledge to Abolish ICE

Alex Hazen, a congressional candidate for Florida’s 5th District, took to social media last week to announce his commitment to abolishing ICE in its current form if elected. In a statement outlining his position, Alex Hazen said:

“It means we need to get rid of ICE in its current form. The organization that has murdered citizens, that ignores Constitutional Rights, that terrorizes citizens, and that has separated families without care.

Now this does not mean we do not have immigration enforcement or immigration reform. We need to have a robust immigration system that treats citizens with respect and dignity. That cannot happen with ICE in its current form as it has lost the trust of the public.

When I get to Congress I swear to do everything in power to fix what Trump and ICE have made more broken.”
